A Road Map to Zero Energy Buildings
Owner and Principal of Rumsey Engineers in Oakland, California, Peter has worked in engineering and energy consulting since the mid 1980s. He is widely recognized as a global player in energy efficiency and a leader in sustainable and resource efficient building design. He is also a Senior Fellow of Rocky Mountain Institute, a recipient of the 2005 AIA Allied Professions Honor Award, and the 2002 Energy Engineer of the Year Award from the Bay Area chapter of the Association of Energy Engineers. Projects designed by Rumsey Engineers have been awarded several LEED certifications, including the first LEED Gold rating for interiors, the first LEED Platinum rating for a U.S. state office building, and the first LEED Platinum building in Nevada. Peter Rumsey, P.E. will present in conjunction with the Transformational Lecture Series (formerly the Urban Sustainability Forum) which is in partnership with the City of Seattle Department of Planning and Development and BetterBricks.
The Transformational Lecture Series aims to inspire all building industry professionals to embrace their role in creating a sustainable built environment now, as well as ensuring that sustainability becomes integral to all development in the future.
Doors open at 5:00pm, lecture starts at 5:30pm.
